6-Panel Mouth Swab (Oral Fluid) – Buyer FAQ

Q:What does a 6 panel saliva drug test check for? A: It screens for six major drug classes: Amphetamine (AMP 50), Cocaine (COC 20), Benzodiazepines (BZO 50), Opiates (OPI 40), Methamphetamine (MET 50), and OXY 20. Q: How accurate is a saliva drug test compared to a urine test? A: Oral swab tests are highly accurate for recent drug use detection, especially within the first 24–48 hours. Accuracy depends on proper sample collection and cutoff levels. Q: How soon can drugs be detected in saliva? A: Most drugs can be detected within minutes to hours after use, with detection windows typically up to 24–72 hours depending on the substance. Q: How do you take a saliva swab drug test? A: The swab is placed inside the mouth (usually under the tongue or along the cheek) until saturated with saliva, then inserted into the test device for results. Q: How long before a saliva test should you avoid eating or drinking? A: Most instructions recommend 30 minutes without food, drink, or smoking before collection. Q: How long does it take to get results? A: On-site results are typically available in 5–10 minutes.

How to Use 6 Panel Saliva Drug Test PEN

Place the absorbent pad into the mouth and swab both cheeks and tongue for a few seconds, then place the absorbent pad in the middle of the mouth to continue collecting saliva. The absorbent pad should be touching tongue or under tongue. Make sure the test device is horizontal to prevent flooding.Remove the test device from the mouth once the saliva can be seen travelling on the test strips. Then place the device on a flat surface. Immediately start the timer.Read results at 5 minutes. Do not read after 10 minutes.* When sampling, gently hold it in mouth and let oral fluid naturally adsorb on the absorbent pad. Do not force saliva into the device to prevent flooding. * Do not eat, drink, or smoke for at least 30 minutes prior to sample collection. * Any oral fluid specimen is appropriate for testing but the oral fluid specimen collected in the morning, before mouth rinsed, eating or drinking, is recommended.

Rapid Oral Drug Test Intended Use

6 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test is a rapid oral fluid screening test. It is a lateral-flow, one-step immunoassay for the qualitative detection of specific drugs and their principal metabolites in human oral fluid at the stated cut-off concentrations for use in employment and insurance testing. This assay provides only a qualitative, preliminary analytical test result. A more specific analytical method must be used to obtain a confirmed result. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is the preferred confirmatory method. Clinical consideration and professional judgment should be applied to any drug-of-abuse test result, particularly when preliminary positive results are indicated. For employment and insurance testing use.

Warnings and Precautions

  1. For external use only. Do not swallow.
  2. Single-use only. Discard after first use.
  3. Do not use the test kit beyond the expiration date.
  4. Do not use the test if the pouch is punctured or not well sealed.
  5. Keep out of the reach of children.
  6. Do not read results after 10 minutes.
  7. Dispose of the used device according to local regulations.
Storage and Stability
  1. Store at 35°F–86°F (2°C–30°C) in the sealed pouch until the expiration date.
  2. Do not freeze.
  3. Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat.
  4. Open the pouch shortly before testing.

Principle of Procedure

6 Panel Oral Fluid Drug Test is a competitive immunoassay used to screen for the presence of drugs in oral fluid. It is a chromatographic absorbent device in which drugs or drug metabolites in a sample competitively bind to a limited number of antibody-dye conjugate binding sites.
  • When the absorbent tip is placed in the oral fluid sample, the sample is drawn in by capillary action, mixes with the antibody-dye conjugate, and flows across the pre-coated membrane.
  • If sample drug levels are zero or below the target cutoff, antibody-dye conjugate binds to the drug/protein conjugate immobilized in the Test (T) region, producing a colored test line. Any visible T line, regardless of intensity, indicates a negative result.
  • If sample drug levels are at or above the target cutoff, free drug in the sample binds to the antibody-dye conjugate and prevents it from binding at the T region. No T line develops, indicating a potentially positive result.
  • A colored line at the Control (C) region serves as a procedural control and should appear if the test has been performed properly.
  • Rapid saliva collection
  • Consistent rapid wicking
  • Greatly decreases ability to adulterate
  • Excellent for “reasonable suspicion” scenarios (Plus applicability for forensic, employment & insurance.)
Supplied:
  • Oral Fluid Drug Tests (per kit)
  • 1 × Instructions for Use
Required but not provided:
  • Timer or stopwatch
Directions for Use (Quick Reference)
  • When sampling, gently hold the device in the mouth and let oral fluid naturally absorb on the tip.
  • Do not eat, drink, or smoke for at least 30 minutes before collection.
  • Any oral fluid specimen is acceptable; morning specimens (before rinsing/eating/drinking) are recommended.
Result Interpretation (At-a-Glance)
  • Negative: Two lines (C & T). Any faint T line = Negative.
  • Positive: Line at C only (no T line for that drug).
  • Invalid: No C line or smeared/unclear lines → repeat with a new device.
